Hey there! Welcome to my first blog post. Today I am going to be talking about a few beauty, body and hair products I have picked up during my last few visits to Penneys (aka Primark).
P.S. Love Natural coconut body scrub, €2.50 and wash, €2.
I’m going to start off with the P.S. Love Natural coconut body scrub and body wash. The range also includes a body lotion, body spritz, body butter and bar of soap. The coconut range smells absolutely amazing but is not overpowering, and the range also comes in a strawberry scent (I’ll be discussing the strawberry body spritz below) which smells equally amazing! They are great value for money at just €2.50 for the body scrub (240g) and €2 for the body wash (200ml) price tags. I have a slight issue with the packaging as the body butter and body scrub come in almost identical packaging, as do the body wash and body lotion. As a result I accidentally purchased the body scrub instead of the butter body. It turned out to be a good mistake to make though, and I absolutely love the body scrub! It gives a deep exfoliating scrub and it has a grainy, sugar like texture which I love in an exfoliator. I have paid a lot more for exfoliators in the past that I have not liked, and would pay more than the €2.50 cost for this coconut one as it is so good. The body wash did not impress me as much. While I liked it, a good dollop of it was needed to work up enough of a lather on my shower puff for my whole body. As a result I sometimes had to go back for more shower gel which doesn’t often happen. Overall I liked both these items, and will definitely be repurchasing the body scrub. I can’t wait to try out the rest of the range and think these are great value for money.
P.S. Love Your Nails ail polish remover pads, €1.50.
Next up for discussion is the P.S. Love Your Nails nail polish remover pads. These are great value at €1.50 for two little tubs, which contain 35 pads apiece. I like the fact these are so convenient, in terms of travelling and usage. They don’t smell overpowering which surprised me. They smelt slightly fruity, which I kind of liked but you do still get a whiff of the alcohol it contains. I generally use one to two pads per hand depending on the colour and number of coats of polish I am trying to remove. I do have an issue with these in that they do require a good bit of rubbing in order to remove the polish. However I find doing my nails therapeutic so don’t actually mind the extra time it takes. If you were in a hurry you might not be happy at all the rubbing that can be required. While I will use these up I don’t think I would repurchase them due to the excess rubbing required for the removal process.
P.S. Love This make-up brush cleanser, €2.50.
Next is the P.S Love This make-up brush cleanser. I know a lot of people are loving this product at the moment and it is quite hard to get you paws on so when I saw it in store I snapped it up. It costs €2.50 for 125ml and I really love it. It contains alcohol but doesn’t smell overpowering and I found it cleaned my brushes really well. I’m not saying you should you use this in place of properly washing your brushes as it won’t give a deep cleanse and get rid of bacteria, but if you wanted to get a little bit longer from your brushes between washes then this is a great quick fix. While it says on the bottle to spray directly onto brushes I found it worked better for me if I sprayed some onto a tissue first then rubbed the brushes onto the tissue in circular motions. I love this product and will definitely be repurchasing it if I can get my hands on another bottle!
Take Out Those Tangles de-tangling hair brush, €1.50.
Next up is a Take Out Those Tangles de-tangling hair brush, which is on-sale for €1.50. I have actually eyed this up a few times when I have been in-store but have never bought it as I thought it would just pull at my hair. How wrong I was! I really like this and I’ve used it on both wet and dry hair and was pleasantly surprised as it didn’t catch or pull at my hair at all. It has an easy grip handle at the back which fits my fingers perfectly and which makes it easy to use. While I won’t need to purchase another one I am glad I bought this.
P.S. Love Your Hair Professional volume shampoo and conditioner, €2 each.
Continuing the hair theme I picked up the P.S. Love Your Hair Professional volume shampoo and conditioner recently as I needed to stock up on shampoo and was looking for a budget friendly buy. I was drawn to these by the lovely pink bottles and their claims of volume. They contain seaweed and sea salt, and have a lovely floral fragrance that is not overpowering but lasts after washing. These are just €2 each for 200ml and the range also has a blonde and brunette version. After using them my hair was not as flat as usual after straightening and so I definitely think it does give some volume to hair. I really liked these and think are great value for money. Generally I don’t stick to one shampoo and conditioner as I like trying out different ones but as a bargain buy I love these and will probably pick them up again sometime in the future.
P.S. Love Natural strawberry body spritz, €1.75.
Next up is the P.S. Love Natural strawberry body spritz. This is €1.75 for a 100ml bottle and I picked it up as I love the smell of it. It smells of strawberries (surprise!) and while I love it, it could be too sweet and fruity for some people’s tastes. It comes in a convenient sized bottle that can easily be carried around in your bag. This may be necessary for top-ups as the smell does not last more than a couple of hours, which is fair enough as it is just a body spritz and not a perfume. Also for the price I don’t think you can go wrong. It also comes in coconut which smells great too and which I think I would purchase to try next. It would be great to layer the scent with the other strawberry P.S. Love Natural Body products mentioned above (coconut body scrub and wash review). 
P.S. Love liquid lipstick, €2.50.
Last but not certainly not least is this lovely bubble gum pink P.S. Love liquid lipstick I picked up on my travels. This cost €2.50 and they also had it in a dark nude and a red when I was in-store. I chose this colour as it is so pretty I couldn’t leave it behind and has little bits of glitter which I really liked the look of. I really love the look of the packaging and the square shape of the lipstick container. As you can see from my colour swatches above it has a great pigmentation and colour pay-off. I also found it very glossy and shiny for a lipstick, but I really like glossy lips so that was not an issue for me.
